St. George is home to many excellent outdoor recreations and near national parks, but it also hosts an array of events throughout the year that are becoming nationally recognized for their exceptional quality.

January

St. George Winter Bird Festival

This festival takes place annually at the end of January. Although St. George is always a good place for bird watching, in the winter a large array of migrating birds pass through the area, making it an outstanding place for birding.

February

Parade of Homes

Tour a variety of homes where the latest in home style and design are on display. This takes place in mid-February.

March

St. George Art Festival

With thousands of one of a kind artwork on display, this festival also includes music, food, and pageantry. People from all over the West travel to attend, including artists and people who support the arts. Held annually in mid-March.

May

Ford Ironman St. George

With St. George's warm climate, this race is held early in the season, and has breathtaking scenic views, making it a popular race.

August

Washington County Fair

Held in early August, this family-focused fair has old-fashioned fun. With games, food, entertainment, carnival rides, and livestock and crop exhibits, this is something the whole family can enjoy.

September

Dixie Lions Round-Up

Started in 1935 to commemorate Armistice Day, this rodeo is held in mid-September and is the only rodeo to be approved by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in southern Utah.

October

St. George Marathon

As one of Runner's World's four "Marathons to Build a Vacation Around" and their 10 Most Scenic and Fastest Marathons and Top 20 Marathons in the USA, this is a one-of-a-kind marathon not to be missed. Held annually in early October.

Huntsman World Senior Games

Competing in 22 sports, men and women athletes over age 50 from around the world come to experience this event. With other associated activities, like healthy lifestyle seminars, this isn't just a competition.

Dixie Rotary Bowl
